Review Of One Direction: This Is Us (2013)

If you saw the first ten minutes of chronicles where riddick has to fend off a bunch of mercs and steal their ship, this is the exact same film, only stretched over two long hours. For the sake of it, the last third of the movie is a remake of the last third of pitch black.
Its all set on one desert like planet, so no more space adventure or fancy technology. There is no army and few spaceship effects. Its basically a western film, more than a sci-fi.
You’ve seen the story before in films like ‘Soilder’ and ‘Rambo’. You’ve seen the monsters before in Pitch Black and Lassie. Ill even throw in 101 Dalmations as it seems fitting in this analogy.
Riddick has super speed powers at some points of the story then loses them when it affects the plot, then gets them back (sortoff) before losing them again. I have no idea how his powers work or why.
But hey, he wears sunglasses at night, so that makes him cool no matter what!

Jennifer Aniston plays a stripper in this movie. I think that’s all that needs to be said here.
We’re The Millers follows local pot dealer David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) after unfortunate circumstances lead his boss, Brad Gurdlinger (Ed Helms), to have him transport a giant shipment of weed from Mexico into the U.S. To do this, David assembles a fake family bearing the last name Miller to cross the border without suspicion. This family consists of Rose O’Reilly (Jennifer Aniston), a stripper who lives in David’s apartment block, Kenny Rossmore (Will Poulter), David’s dorky neighbor, and Casey Mathis (Emma Roberts), the local “gutter punk”.
While this particular story may be original, the way the movie plays out is completely cliché. When watching the movie you’re going to be able to tell what’s gonna happen next as far as the progression of emotion between the characters. The classic at first they don’t get along, then they start to have fun, then they find out something about one of the characters that upsets them, yada yada yada. You know the drill. But I’m very lenient with comedies because they have one job: to make me laugh and We’re The Millers, for the most part, does its job successfully.
This is a very dumb comedy. There is no joke that takes any thought to figure out, but the movie never seems full of itself. It’s very self aware and doesn’t try to be something it’s not. That being said, I don’t know if I would have liked the movie as much if it wasn’t for the cast, particularly Sudeikis and Poulter. Sudeikis just has a natural charm to him and he delivers lines that aren’t actually that great in ways that make them funny (Also he’s engaged to Olivia Wilde, so good on him). Poulter has the perfect face for this role. I almost feel bad for saying it but his character was hilarious just because he’s such a dorky looking guy. Aniston and Roberts do what they can with what they’re given in the script but neither of them really did anything that stood out to me (Except for a scene that was actually rather uncomfortable after Kenny attempts to flirt with a girl). Also, Nick Offerman is in the movie for a little bit and has a really awesome scene involving a mug. None of the other actors really do anything worth mentioning, which sucks because Ed Helms is in this movie and nothing with him made me laugh due to the unfortunately weak script. Really it’s the actors that made this movie likable, and the fact that the b-reel during the credits of the movie is funnier than most of the actual movie backs that up.
What you see in the trailer for the movie is basically exactly what you get: A pretty enjoyable comedy, although nothing remarkable. Speaking of the trailer, it actually gives a lot of the best laughs away (as most trailers do) so if you haven’t seen it or you don’t really remember it, don’t watch it! This Is The End still reigns champion as this year’s best comedy, but I’d say We’re The Millers is good in its own right.

I haven’t seen something this good in a while. Of course, it’s much better if you understand Spanish to be able to get a lot of the jokes and sarcasm, etc.

The cinematography was great for the storyline, and it’s almost its own style I think. The colors, the storyline, and everything else just flowed right throughotu the movie, and it was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. You will laugh and cry throughout the movie, and it very subtly brings up a few issues we face today with parenthood, the court system in America, the basic needs of children, and the advantages of being wealthy.

Don’t expect Hollywood with this movie, because the feelings you will get from watching it are different from your typical Hollywood film that follows a linear storyline to satisfy the expectations of the viewer. I think everything was great about it, no complaints because it’s Eugenio’s first film, crossover, and the little girl was a real great actress for acting for the first time of her life in anything.

Review Of One Direction: This Is Us (2013)

The movie is for Directioners (One Direction fans) and no one else. I went with my two 1D-mad friends, who loved it. I am not crazy for them, but I am fond of them and love Harry and Zayn, so I found most of it entertaining. I spent £8 on this film, which is why I didn’t give it a ten out of ten because it wasn’t really worth all the money…I’d pay a fiver. There are some moments in it where I couldn’t stop laughing. Louis is particularly funny! Anyway, my two friends also thought it was very ‘emotional’ and cried in most parts. I didn’t cry, but I guess I would if I was a proper PROPER fan! It’s got all the songs in it for the music fans, plus all the backstage exclusive videos and rehearsals. Plus, you get to see all their families and what it’s like on a tour bus. My only complaint would be that it didn’t really make me love them anymore. It only told me what I already knew. Overall though, it’s worth a try if you’re not a Directioner and a must see if you are!

Following the mysterious disappearance of an oil rig and a reconnaissance mini-submarine in the Gulf of Mexico, scientist Dr. Margaret Adams (Nicole Dickson) initiates the Armada Program, which consists of giant robots designed for deep sea rescue. The three robots – piloted by Red (David Chokachi), Tracy (Jackie Moore) and Jim (Treach) – dive nearly 800 fathoms to the sea bed, where they not only discover the mangled remains of the oil rig, but encounter the monster that brought it down. Red pursues the monster against orders from Admiral Hadley (Graham Greene), prompting the Admiral to order every naval fleet in the East Coast to converge to the oil rig’s site. Red emerges on a beach to warn the bystanders to leave the premises for their safety when he is suddenly attacked from behind by the monster as their fight takes its toll on the city. An F-18 Hornet piloted by Spitfire (Jared Cohn) assists Red in taking the monster down. Red, however, is arrested for disobeying a direct order. He is locked in solitary confinement until he is briefly released by Adm. Hadley and later given a medal of honor for his heroic actions before serving the rest of his confinement.
